STREAMLINED PROCESS GUIDELINES

The goal of the STREAMLINED PROCESS is to simplify the accommodations request and approval process for applicants who only need modest accommodations in order to ensure equal access.

An applicant seeking an accommodation by using the STREAMLINED PROCESS can request any combination of these accommodations:

  • Up to 25% extra test time that can be used for test exposure or breaks
    • This extra test time cannot be used to address answers from another test session.
    • This extra test time must adhere to the same two-day exam dates as non-accommodated applicants
  • A lactation arrangement in which the applicant requests up to 25% extra test time as well as access to a lactation room or area. Because all test materials must be monitored by an exam proctor, an applicant who elects to utilize their lactation arrangement during a test session cannot have access to their test materials.
  • Other requests that do not involve timing modification or a different testing space.

The STREAMLINED PROCESS requires an applicant to provide the OAA with certain documentation to demonstrate the need for the accommodation to ensure equal access to the exam.

An applicant can meet the STREAMLINED PROCESS requirement through one or more of the following combinations:

  • 2 documents from Category A or
  • document from Category A + 1 document from Category B or
  • 1 document from Category B + 1 document from Category D or
  • 1 document from Category A + 1 document from Category D

The same document cannot be used to satisfy the requirement for more than one Category.

Note that a specific diagnosis is not required and accommodations decisions are not made solely on the basis of any particular diagnosis. Likewise, a formal diagnostic evaluation is not required for the Streamlined Process.
