Withdrawing Your LLP Exam Application

Withdrawing your application means you have already submitted your application for the current LLP exam administration and have elected to no longer take the LLP exam for which you originally applied. Colorado does not consider withdrawing your application in a timely and prudent manner a character and fitness issue.

If you fail to withdraw your application and do not appear for the LLP exam for which you applied, your application will be marked as a No-Show. A No-Show designation may have a negative impact on your character and fitness determination in Colorado; it is therefore prudent to follow-up with the Admissions Office following the exam to explain your situation and why you were unable to attend. If you do not show up for the exam and did not submit a timely, written notification to the office of your intent to withdraw, when and if you reapply to take the LLP exam in Colorado the current full exam fee will be assessed.

APRIL LLP Exam Withdrawal Deadline
Requests to withdraw must be submitted to our office by the end of day (11:59 p.m. Mountain time) on the first MONDAY of April. Requests received after the deadline will not be processed. Those who did not timely withdraw their application are expected to appear for the exam. If you do not show up, you will be marked as a No-Show. No-Show applications do not qualify an applicant for a fee reduction.

Reduced Filing Fee
Application that are properly withdrawn by the deadline will receive a reduced exam application fee of $510 for the next exam if the application for the next exam is timely filed; late fees still apply if the applicant reapplies for the next exam by the late filing deadline. The fee reduction is only applicable to the subsequent November LLP exam administration. You will not receive a reduced reapplication fee if you do not apply for the subsequent exam – i.e., skipping an exam administration. If you skip an exam administration, you will be assessed the current full exam fee upon your next application.

NOVEMBER LLP Exam Withdrawal Deadline
Requests to withdraw must be submitted to our office by the end of day (11:59 p.m. Mountain time) on the first MONDAY of November. Requests received after the deadline will not be processed. Those who did not timely withdraw their application are expected to appear for the exam. If you do not show up, you will be marked as a No-Show. No-Show applications do not qualify an applicant for a fee reduction.

Reduced Filing Fee
Applications that are properly withdrawn by the deadline will receive a reduced exam application fee of $510 for the next exam if the application for the next exam is timely filed; late fees still apply if the applicant reapplies for the next exam by the late filing deadline. The fee reduction is only applicable to the subsequent April LLP exam administration. You will not receive a reduced reapplication fee if you do not apply for the subsequent exam – i.e., skipping an exam administration. If you skip an exam administration, you will be assessed the current full exam fee upon your next application.

Follow these steps to withdraw your application:

  1. You must timely notify the Admissions Office of your intention to withdraw your application and not sit for the exam by emailing bleinfo@csc.state.co.us or your licensure analyst. You must clearly state you wish to withdraw your application; e.g., “I am withdrawing from the November LLP Exam.” Notices that do not affirmatively state your intent to withdraw will not be considered proper notice. Please do not call the office to withdraw; the office must receive your request in writing.
  2. Your message will be reviewed by your assigned Licensure Analyst. They will respond, confirming your request to withdraw your application has been processed. If your notice is insufficient or untimely, your Licensure Analyst will contact you.
  3. Once you have withdrawn your LLP application, you will no longer be allowed to sit for the exam for which you applied. Applications cannot be transferred to a later exam – you must reapply for a subsequent exam administration if you wish to sit for the exam. The reapplication process generally is not as demanding as the initial application but still requires certain updated information.
